Police: man arrested after threatening to burn down home

Police say a man in Grand Island was found with gasoline-soaked paper towels and a blow torch.

GRAND ISLE, Neb. (AP) – A Nebraska man is accused of threatening to burn down a house after his 20-year-old daughter refused to leave it.

Jason Lemburg of Grand Island was arrested Friday for attempted arson and making terroristic threats.

Grand Island police say his 20-year-old daughter was inside a home and refused to leave with him. According to officials, when others inside the home didn’t cooperate with Lemburg, he allegedly threatened to burn the home down.

When officers arrived, they say they detected a strong smell of gasoline, and found Lemburg had soaked paper towels in gasoline and had a blow torch with him.

Lemburg did not ignite any of the materials, but was arrested for attempted arson and terroristic threats.
