Portion of nine Lincoln streets set to close starting week of June 1

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department announced the partial closure of nine Lincoln streets starting on Monday.

  • Cotner Boulevard from Adams Street to Baldwin Avenue will close on Monday for utility work. The street is scheduled to reopen on June 5.
  • 48th Street from Woodland to Claire avenues will have a southbound lane closure on Monday for utility work. The lane is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday.
  • 56th Street from Logan to Kearney avenues will close on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for crane work.
  • Holdrege Streetfrom Cotner Boulevard to 65th Street, will have an eastbound lane closure beginning Monday. Eastbound traffic will be maintained using the center turn lane. The lane is scheduled to reopen on June 12. 
  • 48th Street from South to Sumner streets will close on Tuesday for a water main replacement. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer.
  • South Street from South 49th Street to Cotner Boulevard will have a westbound lane closure on Tuesday for a water main replacement. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer.
  • South 84th Street from Van Dorn to South streets will have northbound lane closures on Tuesday for private construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic on 84th Street at the Van Dorn Street intersection. Northbound traffic will be diverted into the southbound lane. The lanes are scheduled to reopen on July 31.
  • South 70th Street from Pine Lake to Yankee Hill roads will close on Wednesday for railroad track repairs. The street is scheduled to reopen on Friday.
  • Havelock Avenue from 62nd to 70th streets will close on June 6 from 6 to 10 a.m. for the Havelock Run.

Project start and end dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances, LTU said.
