LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A stretch of Old Cheney Rd. closed since February is now back open.

The stretch of road from Hwy. 77 to Hunts Dr., as well as parts of Wilderness Park, had been periodically closed for an improvement project.

The project, which city officials say finished two months ahead of schedule, includes the stabilization of the Salt Creek stream channel to protect the Old Cheney Bridge, and the installation of new sanitary sewer and water lines.
