Portions of five Lincoln streets set to close starting Friday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department announced the closure of five Lincoln streets in the coming week.

The closures include:

  • Canopy Street between Q and R streets and R Street between the alley east of the Red 1 Garage and 7th Street will close on Friday for a high school graduation. The streets are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday.
  • Adams Street from 63rd to 64th streets will have a westbound lane closure starting Tuesday for utility work. Westbound traffic will be diverted into the common center turn lane. The street is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday.
  • Adams Street from 94th to 98th streets will close beginning Tuesday for pavement repairs. The street is scheduled to reopen on Thursday.
  • North 56th Street from Adams to Cleveland streets will close on Tuesday for utility work. The street is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday.
  • North 27th Street from W to Vine streets will have a southbound outside lane closure on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.
