(CNN) – Starting next week, the World Health Organization will look at three potential COVID-19 vaccine booster options.
The three scenarios are laid out a draft update to its global vaccine strategy.
The first option is an annual one-dose booster shot for all target populations.
Another could call for those 50 years and older to get the annual booster, with other ages every two years.
The third scenario would not require a booster after an initial COVID-19 vaccination.
The World Health Organization’s expert group on immunization will review the options on Tuesday, June 29.
In a statement, the World Health organization says best and worst case scenarios will be evaluated.
The options would cover vaccination strategy for the remainder of 2021 through 2022.
