President uninjured, suspect in custody after reported shooting incident at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – President Donald Trump and other top leaders of the United States are uninjured after an apparent shooter opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday.

The Secret Service rushed the president and members of his Cabinet out of the annual dinner after loud bangs could be heard.

Authorities said the incident happened outside of the ballroom where Trump and other guests were seated. It is not clear what happened at this time.

There does not appear to be any injuries, and officials said a person is in custody.

President Trump is planning to give a statement at the White House.

Channel 8 has reached out to senators Pete Ricketts and Deb Fischer to confirm whether they were in attendance.
