Public defender appointed to represent Husker running back Washington

A Nebraska running back facing criminal charges will be represented in California by a public defender.

At a court hearing Monday, Maurice Washington – who faces revenge porn and child porn charges in connection to a video he allegedly sent an ex-girlfriend – was assigned a member of the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office to represent him as the case moves forward, according to a court website.

Washington’s next court date was set for June 12 where he is expected to enter a formal plea.
