Rain on the way; Will continue through midweek

Rain is on the way to southeast Nebraska and it will hang around through Thursday morning.  Rain totals look to be on the hefty side.

Scattered showers will be possible late Monday night in to Tuesday morning.  Rain will expand in coverage through the day Tuesday as a surge of moisture moves in to the state out of the south.  Moderate to heavy pockets of rain will be possible by midday Tuesday.  Computer models suggest anywhere from 0.50″ to 1.25″ of rainfall accumulation by early evening.

Another surge of moisture is expected to arrive in the region Tuesday night.

Widespread areal coverage of rain will become more scattered Wednesday.  Rain should come to an end in the Channel 8 viewing area by early Thursday morning.

Even though rain will be more scattered in coverage, rainfall totals will continue to add up.

A 29-computer model average suggests 2.35″ of rain falling in Lincoln through Thursday afternoon, or 376% the normal rainfall for May 22-26.  The range in computer models is from 1.64″ to 3.23″.

Once the rain comes to an end, temperatures will start to increase.  So will the humidity!
