RECALL ALERT: Taco Kits pulled over allergy concerns

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling its Chicken Street Taco Kit because of an issue with its supplier, Reser’s Fine Foods.

The grocery chain ordered bulk Taco Kits from Reser’s and repackaged them as Hy-vee Chicken Street Taco Kits. They contain Chipotle Crema Sauce which contains egg which was not included on the label.

People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recall includes Taco Kits that were sold in deli cases, packaged in black plastic trays with clear plastic lids. Hy-vee says only products with the UPC 02-82503-09993 and/or a “Best If Used By” date prior to May 27, 2021 are affected.

Customers with an egg allergy or sensitivity should dispose of the product or return it to a local Hy-Vee for a full refund.

If you have any questions about the voluntary recall, contact Hy-Vee Customer Care representatives at 1-800-772-4098.
