RECORD Rainfall To Dry & Cool Weather
RECORD BREAKING amounts of rain has fallen over the last 24 hours across Lincoln & SE Nebraska! Lincoln broke an all-time record for one-day rainfall, with a total of 6.15 inches recorded at the Lincoln Airport. That breaks the previous record of 5.45 inches, set on August 29, 1910. Areas of Lincoln saw 6–9″+ of rainfall, with the heaviest rain band stretching from Lincoln to North Omaha.
The HEAVIEST rain swath fell from Lincoln up to W Omaha. Lincoln, Millard & Boys Town received the most rainfall.
Areas around SE Nebraska saw rain totals from 2.5″-4.50″! A WET way to end September no doubt!
This afternoon & evening, the best chance for any rain will be across far SE Nebraska. Any rain that falls will be much lighter than yesterday.
North winds will be quite windy across the state! Gusts up to 35-40+ mph as the cold front moves through this evening.
High temperatures will stay in the low to mid 60s, with sunshine coming out this evening.
Friday morning will be BRISK & REFRESHING! Temperatures waking up will be in the low to mid 40s for much of Nebraska.
Temperatures look to stay near 66° – 78° through the next 10 days! *Morning temperatures look to stay near 43° – 55°! Some areas could see their coldest temperatures Friday & Saturday morning. The rain chances are non existent through next week. This weekend and next week is shaping up AMAZING! Sunny skies & cool temperatures with less active rain chances.
