LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A new report finds governments and companies are still incentivizing and ramping up fossil fuel extraction and burning.

According to the Annual Lancet Countdown report on health and climate change many governments are undermining efforts to reverse climate change.

Governments have also failed to deliver on their promise to aid in the transition to clean energy.

Researchers say this delay is making it harder for families to afford escalating energy bills.

It is also exposing people to hazardous levels of indoor pollution.

Without accelerating efforts for renewable energy Lancet warns climate change-related deaths and diseases will only worsen.
