Report: Husker head coach Matt Rhule suing Carolina Panthers
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska coach Matt Rhule is suing the Carolina Panthers over compensation from his severance package, according to CBS Sports.
Rhule was fired from the Panthers on Oct. 10, just five weeks into his third season with the team.
According to the report, Rhule filed an arbitration suit against the franchise on Jan. 25 and seeks about $5 million in offset severance compensation.
Rhule was owed around $34 million by the Panthers following his departure, the report says.
His contract with Nebraska is worth about $74 million.
