Salvation Army receives nearly 400 fans from Ace Hardware donation drive

70 were a gift from Ameritas

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Salvation Army received nearly 400 fans from the donation drive at Westlake Ace Hardware locations.

70 of those fans were a generous donation from Ameritas.

According to the Salvation Army, this is the second-largest number of fans it has received in the 10 years of the drive.

All of these fans will go to people in need.

With the hot summer weather, coupled with the higher costs for everything, the Salvation Army says the need is great.

Maj. Mark Anderson of the Lincoln Salvation Army said that once again, the Lincoln community showed its generosity.

“Lincoln is a great place to live, filled with generous people,” he said. “And once again, it shows through this magnificent donations of fans.”

The fans will be given out starting Friday at the Salvation Army headquarters off 27th and Potter Streets.
