Santa celebrates holidays with Waverly Fire and Rescue

WAVERLY, Neb. (KLKN) — A yearly celebration in Waverly saw Santa pulling up to the town’s Community Center in a different kind of red vehicle.

The Waverly Fire and Rescue team helped around a hundred families to celebrate the Christmas season with dinner and family photos.

As the party began picking up, a fire truck decked out in LED lights pulled into the parking lot carrying Santa inside.

Fire and Rescue Chief Jared Rains said the kids in the crowd could not contain their excitement.

“We had tons of people in here,” Rains said. “It was kind of cool getting updates from my assistant chief as to where Santa was coming.”

The night continued with guests lining up to take family photos with Santa and enjoying each other’s company.
