Scottsbluff woman killed in deadly crash in Deuel County

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KLKN) – According to the Nebraska State Patrol, one man has been arrested after a deadly crash on Interstate 80 near Scottsbluff around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

NSP said it has arrested a 30-year-old New York semitrailer-truck driver. The patrol said the preliminary investigation shows that a Dodge Caravan was going west when it was hit from behind by the semi.

Troopers say the collision caused the van to roll, ejecting the front seat passenger, 55-year-old Haroldene Rodriguez of Scottsbluff. Troopers say she was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the van and two child passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

NSP identified the driver of the semi as Atinder Singh and arrested him on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide and careless driving.
