Search for Brian Laundrie, items found off trail

Medical examiner and human remains detection team searching where investigators found items

NORTH PORT, Fla. (KLKN) – Articles belonging to Brian Laundrie were found today in a Florida nature park resulting in law enforcement, a medical examiner, and a human remains detection team searching the area.

According to the Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino, Laundrie’s parents went to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port, Florida to search for him. After a “brief search” off a trail Laundrie frequented, the family and law enforcement found “some articles” belonging to him.

Law enforcement is now searching the area and a medical examiner’s office in Sarasota, Florida has been called to the park. A human remains detection team has been requested by North Port Police consisting of one dog, a handler, and two spotters.

This comes as the search for Brian Laundrie has been ongoing for over a month.
