When a school is placed in Secure, everyone is brought inside the building, no one is allowed to leave, and entrances are locked and monitored.
Teaching and learning, along with movement within the building, continue as usual, according to Lincoln Public Schools.
At 2:50 p.m., the police department said the situation was resolved and that it was safe to dismiss school as usual.
“We appreciate the continued collaboration and communication with Lincoln Police to keep our school safe,” Lincoln East Principal Casey Fries said in a letter to families.
