Sen. Deb Fischer paid tribute to the late Lindsey Graham, urging senators to oppose Russia

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Yesterday, Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer paid tribute to the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who died nearly two weeks ago. Fischer asked her colleagues to carry on Graham’s efforts.

“I rise here today to pay tribute to Lindsey Graham, but to also call on my colleagues to help us carry on one of his greatest efforts—ending Putin’s barbaric and unjust war against sovereign Ukraine,” Fischer said.

Fischer also called on her colleagues to pass the Sanctioning Russia Act as fast as possible.

The Sanctioning Russia Act is a bipartisan legislative proposal that would penalize Russia for the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Fischer said support for the proposal would help carry on Graham’s legacy.
