Sen. Mike Flood announces run for Congress

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –State Senator Mike Flood, who represents Norfolk announced his plans to run for Congress Flood, who was formally the Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature, will be running for Nebraska’s First Congressional District.

He joins a number of other opponents, including former Congressmen Jeff Fortenberry, who is currently facing federal charges. Other opponents include Senator Patty Pansing Brooks and Jazari Kual.

Flood addressed a number of issues he looking to tackle in his announcement peach on Sunday. He said his focus is to address the issue middle class Nebraskans face daily, from rising gas prices to illegal immigrants on the southern border.

“I’m running to take back back our country and do the work the American people want Congress to do: let people keep more of what they earn, respect their freedoms, and get government out of their way,” Flood said.
