September 15 marks beginning of wild turkey season

Nebraska’s fall wild turkey season begins Sunday, Sept. 15. Hunters have a chance to harvest two turkeys on a single permit.

Nebraska’s wild turkey season lasts through January 31st.

Turkeys can be found in every county of the state, and hunters will find good opportunities on more than 500,000 acres of public and public-access land in Nebraska.

Permits are available on the Nebraska Game and Parks website, by mail and at Game and Parks permitting offices.
