Several chances of rain in Nebraska in coming days

A bit of a pattern change coming to Nebraska as we move into a period when there is a daily chance for rain through the beginning of the weekend.

However, let me stress, not everyone will receive rain every day.

The first chance comes late Wednesday night and Thursday morning (pre-dawn).

Widely scattered showers and/or a thunderstorm will be possible, mainly in south-central Nebraska.

The second chance comes late Thursday afternoon and evening.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along a stalled-out front, located north of Lincoln.  These will likely continue into the night and early Friday.

A weather system will send thunderstorms into northwest Nebraska early Friday morning.  They are expected to quickly fizzle out during the morning before reaching central Nebraska.

Another system will push through Nebraska on Friday afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop from central Nebraska into eastern Nebraska during the evening hours.

Some of these storms could be strong to severe.  The main threat will be large hail, but a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
