Thursday Forecast:

1-3PM: Isolated storms look to develop near Superior starting the hail/wind threat. Watching areas like Crete, Hebron, Fairbury, Beatrice & even Lincoln for a stronger storm or two.

3PM-5PM: Storms will intensify as they move east. Lincoln will likely see storms near 4-6pm with Omaha getting storms near 7-8pm. Storms will be capable of STRONG winds, hail & an isolated tornado threat. Watching areas E of Beatrice for the strongest storms.

6PM-8PM: Tornado potential PEAKS across SE Nebraska. The LLJ will be strongest over Pawnee & Falls City. Storms will weaken by 10pm.

A brief tornado potential is possible this evening for areas east of Beatrice. Tornado potential timing: 5-9pm

A FLOOD WATCH is in effect through Friday morning for SE Nebraska. Rain totals up to 2-4″+ could occur within the storms Thursday night.

EXTREME STORM FUEL will occur all day Friday. This will make storms SEVERE fast! By 4pm-midnight Friday, DAMAGING WINDS up to 70+ mph, VERY LARGE HAIL & an isolated TORNADO threat will occur.

4PM-10PM: The greatest storm energy looks to build across SE Nebraska Friday due to sunshine during the morning & early afternoon. Storm development in this unstable atmosphere will allow them to intensify VERY quickly.

A warm, muggy and rainy 10 day forecast! Expect daily AM/PM rain/storm chances with the BEST rain chance Thursday morning/evening across eastern Nebraska. Highs will stay near 82-92 degrees with overnight lows near 60-65 degrees. BENEFICIAL rainfall through this week across the state, as storms start out west and move east through the night.
