Shelley’s record-breaking night leads Huskers past Illini

Nebraska women's basketball broke a tournament record hitting 15 three-pointers with Jaz Shelley scoring 32 points.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska women’s basketball cruised past Illinois in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament, 92-74.

Jaz Shelley led the way with 32 points and nine three-pointers. Her nine triples broke not only a school record but also the tournament record.

The Huskers as a team also broke the Big Ten tournament record with 15 three-pointers.

In addition to Shelley’s performance, Freshman of the Year Alexis Markowski scored 22 points, and Isabelle Bourne recording 15.

Nebraska advances to play No. 3 Michigan on Friday after 6:30 p.m. game on the Big Ten Network.
