Smoke advisory issued Thursday afternoon
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A moderate-level smoke advisory that may affect southeast and east Nebraska has been issued due to prescribed burns in Kansas and Oklahoma.
The burns are done to manage prairie and rangelands. The advisory will be issued around 2 pm today and may affect Webster, Nuckolls, Thayer, Jefferson, and Gage counties. Grand Island, York Beatrice, Lincoln, Omaha, Norfolk, and South Sioux City could also be affected.
During moderate smoke conditions, sensitive groups should limit outdoor work or exercise.
