Soggy & cool Monday forecast 5/2/2022

Rain is inching closer to Lincoln as of 7 AM this morning, and soon radar will be full of rain across southeast NE. This rain will continue all day today, so make sure you bring the rain gear with you wherever you go. Temperatures will struggle to warm as a result of the rain, and highs will only reach the mid to upper 40s as a result. Showers and even the occasional rumble of thunder will persist into the overnight overs before we begin to dry out into early tomorrow morning. By the morning, over an inch of rain is likely across the area, with some spots close to 2 inches. We hang onto the clouds tomorrow, but temperatures jump back into the upper 50s for highs. Temperatures bounce around the upper 50s and low 60s thru Thursday, before the upper 60s return on Friday as well as sunshine. Our next¬† chance of rain is on Wednesday into Thursday before another round returns just in time for Mother’s Day weekend. Even though we might have to deal with rain, temperatures are looking warm for the weekend! Wait a few days before you cancel your Mother’s Day plans, as the timing of the rain has time to change.
