Soggy & possibly severe Tuesday 4/6/2021

Scattered thunderstorms and showers are currently pushing through southeast Nebraska this morning. Grab the rain gear before you leave, but you won’t need a light jacket! Current temperatures are in the 50s and 60s with light southerly winds. Overall high temperatures will be a bit cooler today though thanks to the rain. Showers and thunderstorms will continue into the afternoon and evening, with highs only topping out in the upper 70s. Wind speeds will also turn gusty with wind gusts peaking close to 40 mph or higher in some spots. Our main focus is late this evening when we have the chance for strong to severe storms to develop. The main threats would be gusty winds and hail with these storms. Rain showers and thunderstorms continue into tomorrow as well as into Friday with breezy conditions. High temperatures cool down every day leading into the weekend as a result. Above average highs return by the weekend with dry conditions.
