Some Lincoln pharmacies seeing shortage of certain medications

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Some Lincoln pharmacies are feeling the effects of a nationwide supply chain crisis.

Kohll’s Pharmacy, near 27th and Vine Streets, is seeing some shortages in medications.

“Specifically, there was a time, not too long ago actually, that the long-acting insulin wasn’t available for us to get,” Bryce Walker, a Pharmacist said. “I’m not positive on the reason why, if it was shipping delays or manufacturing issues, but it wasn’t available for a little while.”

Kohll’s has been able to manage any shortages by turning to some generic medications and different manufacturers.

“We had to manage that by, some people we changed to other long-acting insulins, that would be very similar to that one, or a different form of insulin,” Walker said.

They want to remind patients, although the medicine might look slightly different, it’s the same medication and all works the same.
