Spencer Schwellenbach drafted to Atlanta Braves

The Big Ten Player of the Year was the 59th overall pick in the second round of the MLB Draft.

DENVER, Co. (KLKN) – Nebraska baseball’s Spencer Schwellenbach was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft. Schwellenbach was the 59th overall pick.

The two-way player didn’t hear his name on the first night of the draft but didn’t have to wait too long on day two.

Other Huskers Jaxon Hallmark and Cade Povich both still have their names in the draft, as well as Nebraska recruits Drew Christo and Chase Mason.
