Staplehurst resident arrested for sending sexually explicit emails to area high school
The Butler County Sheriff's Office says they were offering money for explicit photos of minors.
DAVID CITY, Neb. (KLKN) — A person has been arrested for sending a sexually explicit email to a local high school. The Butler Count Sheriff’s Office says they were offering money for explicit photos of minors.
Authorities say they were contacted by East Butler High School about the email in May. The school’s security software intercepted the email and contacted the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation was opened at the time.
On Sept. 3, Butler County deputies along with Seward County deputies issued a search warrant for a home in Staplehurst, Neb. There, the main suspect in the case was interviewed and arrested.
The Seward County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation. If you have any information about a minor receiving similar emails, you are asked to contact their office at 402-643-2359.
