Start of Girl Scout cookie season

It’s that time of year again where young Girl Scouts start selling cookies on doorsteps and storefronts across the United States.

Wednesday marked the start of Girl Scout cookie season in many parts of the country, but if you live in Nebraska you’ll have to wait until Feb. 1st.

In addition to the classics, Girl Scouts will also be selling a new cookie.

The new cookie is caramel chocolate chip.

According to Girl Scouts of America, it has caramel, semisweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt in a chewy, gluten-free cookie.

It’s the first new cookie they’ve unveiled since 2015.

Which brings their offerings to 12.

Cookie prices will vary nationally and proceeds stay with local scout groups.

There is no direct online ordering option, individual scouts and groups can offer their supply through the Girl Scout’s digital cookie program.
