Nebraska state troopers arrest wrong-way driver after pursuit on I-80

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a wrong-way Kansas driver after a pursuit near Wood River.

NSP says a trooper saw an Acura MDX traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lane on Interstate 80.  The trooper then pulled the vehicle over.

According to NSP, as the trooper approached 31-year-old Casey Jasper’s vehicle, he accelerated and fled.

Jasper continued to drive the wrong way in the eastbound lane until a trooper was able to successfully bring the vehicle to a stop.

NSP says Jasper refused to get out of the vehicle and troopers had to physically remove him while he kicked at them.

NSP arrested Jasper of Chanute, Kansas, on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, driving under the influence of alcohol, willful reckless driving, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, assault on an officer and several other charges.
