Statue vandalized outside of Memorial Stadium
UNL Police confirmed the statues near the East Stadium entrance were vandalized with spray paint.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – UNL Police confirmed statues near the East Stadium entrance of Memorial Stadium were vandalized with spray paint early Sunday morning.
The Husker Legacy Statue was covered in white spray paint on the players faces, and on the backs of the players.
The statue was created in 1997 and honors the four National Championships won in 1970, 1971, 1994, and 1995.
The vandalism is currently under investigation, and UNLPD believes it could be in relation to another vandalism incident that happened on campus around the same time.
