‘Stay home and stay safe’: Nebraskans report anonymous phone calls discouraging voting

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials say there are reports of Nebraskans receiving anonymous robo calls discouraging them from voting.

Secretary of State Bob Evnen said in a news release Tuesday morning his office received reports from people who said a stranger called them and told them to “stay home and stay safe.”

The release did not specify where the reports came from or how many people reported receiving the calls.

Evnen said polling places across the state are open and voters and poll workers will be kept safe.

“Elections matter and your vote counts,” he said.
