String of sewing machine thefts at Joann Fabrics

The total known value of the thefts is $2,623.88, with some machine values remaining unaccounted for.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Joann Fabrics on 220 N. 66th Street has seen 14 sewing machine thefts since April 2021.

At 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 26, two males entered Joann Fabrics and approached the sewing machine display. After being approached by an employee they left and returned 30 minutes later.

The men each selected a Janome sewing machine, walked past the registers, and entered white Chevy SUV and left with a total value of $699.98.

Two men with a similar description have committed similar thefts at Joann Fabrics on four prior occasions in the past year.

Jan. 5, 2022, two men walked out with four Singer sewing machines with a total value of $1,039.96.

Nov. 26, 2021, four men walked out with four Singer sewing machines with a total value of $519.96.

Aug. 24, 2021, two men walked out with two Singer sewing machines with a total value of $363.98.

April 19, 2021, one man walked out with two sewing machines, the store was unable to determine a value.

Officers have spoken with store employees and examined surveillance video.

At this time the suspects have not been identified.
