Student taken to hospital after accident involving school bus

A Lincoln Public Schools student was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after being injured in an accident involving a school bus.

The bus was transporting three Independence Academy (VOICE) students when it collided with another vehicle near 20th and Highway 2 around 2 p.m., according to a statement by LPS.

The statement said the student was taken to the hospital to be treated for a minor injury, and that arrangements were made to transport the other students home.

“We are working with Lincoln Police as they continue their investigation into the accident,” the statement said.
