Suzanne Pillen invites Nebraskans to donate an evergreen tree for the holidays
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — First Lady Suzanne Pillen and the Capitol Commission announced the invitation for Nebraskans to donate an evergreen tree. The tree would serve as a centerpiece for the holiday celebrations and performances at the Nebraska State Capitol.
Pillen said the trees are extraordinary gifts.
“Most often, the trees come from individual property owners. It’s an amazing feat to get them into the building and prepared for display,” Pillen said. “It is an absolute treat for visitors to come and see the tree when it is fully decorated and it is an honor to acknowledge this extraordinary gift to the Capitol every year.”
The trees requested should be between 20 and 25 feet high. The tree must be in good shape, having most of its branches.
