SWAT serves warrant leading to child abuse arrest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — This morning, the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) SWAT team was called in serve a search warrant to home with an 11-year-old child inside.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force and LPD SWAT arrived at the 200 block of Garber Ave. around 1:30.

Authorities were able to speak with the residents before actually entering. Inside, they found two adults, 38-year-old Jamaal Williams and 34-year-old Jazmes Lott, along with their 11-year-old child.

While searching the residence, investigators found 1.4 grams of crack cocaine, 21.4 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and two 9 mm handguns.

Williams was arrested for two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, and child abuse. Lott was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and child abuse.

Currently, their child is in the care of a family member.
