TC Energy reports leak in Keystone Pipeline near Nebraska-Kansas border

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A leak in the Keystone Pipeline was reported near the Nebraska-Kansas border Wednesday night, TC Energy said.

Around 8 p.m., TC Energy shut down the pipeline and sent crews out to fix the leak, which was located about 20 miles south of Steele City.

Officials say the affected segment has been isolated, but the system will remain shutdown as crews work to contain and recover the oil.

“Our primary focus right now is the health and safety of onsite staff and personnel, the surrounding community, and mitigating risk to the environment through the deployment of booms downstream as we work to contain and prevent further migration of the release,” TC Energy said in the statement.
