Nebraska football freshman tight end Thomas Fidone will miss the Huskers' spring game on Saturday after suffering a non-contact knee injury.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska football freshman tight end Thomas Fidone will miss the Huskers’ spring game on Saturday after suffering a non-contact knee injury. He’s expected to have surgery on Thursday.

NU head coach Scott Frost confirmed the news following Wednesday’s practice.

Frost also discussed the possibility of Fidone returning for the 2021 season.

“I think the best chance would be get back toward the middle of the season and play some games down the stretch,” Frost said.

Fidone was a four-star recruit coming out of Council Bluffs Lewis Central & enrolled early this spring.
