Teen shot woman who caught him breaking into vehicle, Omaha Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman suffered minor injuries when she was shot at by a teen, police say.

The Omaha Police Department said officers were called to a home near 42nd and W Streets on Monday morning.

A woman, identified as 32-year-old Samantha Zellmar, told police she came out of her home to yell at a male teenager who was breaking into a vehicle.

As the teen ran away, he fired multiple shots at Zellmar, police say.

She was wounded, but police say her injuries did not require medical treatment.

A block south of there, near X and 42nd Streets, police found the suspect and another teen.

Police say two males, ages 14 and 17, were arrested and taken to the police headquarters.
