Teen who police say vandalized church back in Youth Attention Center for pointing BB gun at group of students

A 13-year-old was arrested by Lincoln Police Monday after they said he pointed what appeared to be a gun at a group of students near Lefler Middle School.

The teen was riding in the back of a car when it happened, Lincoln Police Officer Angela Sands said. Sands said a witness saw the teen point the apparent weapon and took down the license plate before calling police.

Officers found the car in a neighborhood near 56th & Pioneers. A BB gun was found in the backseat.

The teen responsible for pointing the BB gun was on conditional release from the Youth Attention Center for vandalizing College View Seventh Day Adventist Church Saturday night.

He was taken back to the Youth Attention Center and referred to the county attorney for disturbing the peace.
