Governor Pete Ricketts on Thursday announced an additional Test Nebraska site will be operational on Friday, May 8, at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln.

As with the testing site at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, CHI Health will provide staff to collect swabs at this location. The testing is a collaboration with the State of Nebraska and the Nebraska National Guard, which will also have personnel on site to assist with operations.

Testing will begin Friday May 8 at 8 a.m. and run through 6 p.m.

CHI Health expects to have 12-15 health care workers on site and will monitor volumes and add additional staff if needed.

The Nebraska State Patrol will take the testing swabs collected at the Lancaster Event Center to CHI Health St. Elizabeth, where the state lab for Test Nebraska is located. The lab is a continuous operation, staffed 24/7 by CHI Health employees who can run up to 3,000 tests each day. Those tested through Test Nebraska should expect a 48-hour result turnaround.

CHI Health’s drive-thru testing site at Lincoln North Star High School will continue to be operational. Anyone tested at that location must have an appointment and an order from a physician or provider.
