The Fort donates Western wear to People’s City Mission

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Fort in south Lincoln, which is temporarily closed due to a fire in July, has donated boxes of shirts and jeans, cowboy boots and even women’s jewelry to the People’s City Mission.

The donation happened on Dec. 12, so people could get what they need in time for the holidays.

Pastor Tom Barber, CEO of the People’s City Mission, said these items were a huge hit with everyone.

“It was fabulous,” he said. “I mean, we had so many comments from many of our shoppers and guest.”

He said the mission’s help center, which is where most donated items go, serves not only the guests of the mission, but 10% of Lincoln’s population.

The help center allows anyone facing poverty to go and get things they need for free.

If you want to donate, you can drop things off at the back of the building near 70th and P Streets.
