The importance of educator wellness: Interview with Tina H. Boogren
Tina H. Boogren spoke with Channel 8 about her new book.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Author, Tina H. Boogren, wrote about educator wellbeing in her new book, Educator Wellness: A Guide for Sustaining Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Social Well-Being.
Boogren spoke about the stresses that educators have dealt with throughout the pandemic, and ways that educators can deal with their stress.
“I don’t think a teacher should carry this burden on their own,” said Boogren
According to Boogren, teachers make around 15,000 educational decisions a day, and she believes it is important to show appreciation to educators.
“Nothing feels better to a teacher than just a thank you note, a Starbucks gift card, a we’re cheering for you and a simple note of gratitude,” said Boogren.
Boogren suggested that it is important for teachers to leave work at work, and make time for themselves to help deal with everyday stresses.
Educator Wellness: A Guide for Sustaining Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Social Well-Being is currently available for preorder online, and will be available for purchase in bookstores on September 24th.
