Third bat in Two Rivers Public Health District found with rabies
KEARNEY, Neb. (KLKN) — The Two Rivers Public Health Department (TRPHD) has confirmed a bat found in their district tested positive for rabies.
According to TRPHD, this is the third bat that has tested positive for rabies in their district this year.
The bat had been reported after making contact with humans, who have since been notified and given medical consultation.
TRPHD urges residents to avoid any contact with wild or stray animals because rabies can be transmitted through saliva.
