PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Sistahs! Another “Hocus Pocus” movie is in the works.

The president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, Sean Bailey, told The New York Times that “Hocus Pocus 3” is coming after the success of the sequel last year.

The sequel to the beloved 1993 film was filmed throughout Rhode Island, including Providence and Newport.

Southern New Englanders saw familiar sights while watching “Hocus Pocus 2” like the Walgreens on Atwells Avenue in Providence, where the Sanderson Sisters teeter inside to look for a special potion.

Winifred, Sarah, and Mary will run “Amok, Amok, Amok” again, although it’s unclear where filming will take place this time.

Casting has yet to be announced, but stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker have all previously said they’d be willing to put a spell on Salem again.

The stars of the original movie, Omri Katz, who plays Max, Thora Birch, who plays Dani, and Vinessa Shaw, who plays Allison, have also said they’d be open to coming back. Variety reports that was the plan for the sequel, but it didn’t end up working out.

A tentative release date for “Hocus Pocus 3” has not been announced.

“Hocus Pocus” and “Hocus Pocus 2” are both streaming on Disney Plus.
