Three arrested in shooting near north Omaha strip mall, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have identified three suspects in a shooting near a north Omaha strip mall on Tuesday.
Around 2:30 p.m., officers heard gunfire coming from an area near 31st and Ames Avenues.
When they arrived at the scene, they saw a man – later identified as 26-year-old Jahari Love – near a car firing a gun toward a home.
Police said two officers fired their guns at Love, who was eventually taken into custody.
Officers also took the other three occupants of the car into custody. Several people inside the home were also detained for questioning.
Love was taken to a hospital with an injury to his right wrist. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
No one else was injured, police said.
On Wednesday, police identified three people who were arrested in connection to the shooting.
Love and 37-year-old Matthew Berg were arrested on suspicion of attempted felony assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Another suspect, 28-year-old Brandi Walker, was arrested on suspicion of attempted felony assault, terroristic threats, evidence tampering and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing. The two officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave.
