Timpte announces $22 million manufacturing facility at Lincoln Airport

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A multimillion-dollar manufacturing facility is coming to the Lincoln Airport.

LNK and Timpte Inc. announced plans for the $22 million Lincoln Manufacturing Center on Thursday.

The 180,000- to 200,000-square-foot facility will be built on the airport’s west side in the LNK Enterprise Park.

Company officials say trailers, boat accessories and a variety of metal fabrications will be manufactured at the site. Aftermarket trailer parts will also be distributed through the facility.

“Timpte is excited for the opportunity to expand our manufacturing operations in Lincoln and build on the success we have seen over the past 11 years at our West O Street facility,” Timpte President and CEO Dale Jones said in a press release. “This new facility will allow us to bring further diversification to our product portfolio and create a variety of well paid, skilled job opportunities.”

The companies hope the building will create 80 jobs for Lincoln, bringing Timpte’s employee base to 700.

The new facility is being built as part of the 50-year lease between the airport and Timpte.

Other businesses, such as Thunderstone Manufacturing and Lincoln Marine, will be supported by the new facility, according to officials.

“We are thrilled about the announcement of Timpte’s plans for continued growth and investment in Lincoln,” said Jason Ball, President and CEO of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. “Timpte has been a leader in their industry for more than a century and part of the Lincoln economy for more than a decade.”

The company expects construction to begin soon, with a groundbreaking planned within the next 60 to 90 days.
