UPDATE: Westbound I-80 near York closed due to accident

UPDATE: Westbound I-80 from York is closed due to an accident. 

We do not have any additional details at this time, but will provide more information as it becomes available. 

Most roads around Lincoln are still completely covered in snow. 

Traffic cameras at Highway 77 and Van Dorn show the road partially covered in snow. Several viewers have told Channel 8 Eyewitness News that the road is very slick. 

Conditions further south along Highway 77 have not improved since early Saturday morning. Traffic cameras along Highway 77 near Roca show the road completely covered in snow.

Near downtown Lincoln a traffic camera at I-80 and X Street show the road clear of snow, but it is still wet and slick. 

At this time officials are still urging people to stay off the roads as crews are still working to clear them.

Roads for much of southeastern Nebraska are completely snow covered and many remain impassible as of early Saturday morning.

Roads northwest of Lincoln are wet as indicated by the green lines. 

Traffic cameras along Highway 77 near Van Dorn show the highway as completely covered in snow making driving conditions difficult and dangerous.

Conditions deteriorate along Highway 77 the further south you go. Highway 77 near the Roca exit it is impossible to make out where the road is.

A traffic camera along I-80 near downtown Lincoln shows some snow along the roadway, but mostly wet conditions.

Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution along the roads as roads that are not snow covered are still wet and can be icy. 

City and state crews are working to plow roadways and apply deicers, but drivers are encouraged to stay home and off the roads.
