LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — We all know after getting the vaccine you receive a card. Well, what happens if you lose it?

One local woman’s vacation could be in jeopardy after she lost hers before a family trip to Hawaii.

“I don’t have my card,” said Petersen. “I’m gonna have to get tested there’s no way around it so I literally could get a letter from Hy–Vee I could get a letter from my doctor’s office and I could get a letter from the health department and none of that is good enough.”

Cris Petersen recently noticed her vaccine card was missing. She could only get letters of proof from Hyvee, where she got her shot, the health department, and her doctor’s office.

Which are all unacceptable for plane travel to Hawaii. Now Cris will have to get tested before traveling.

Here are a few tips. If you have your card, store it in a safe place.

If you lose it, call the place you received it for a replacement.

If that fails the health department recommends visiting the state immunization website to print your records.
